Skyecroft Kennels has been providing trusted dog boarding for families across the local area for many years. Built on a genuine love of animals, we’ve earned a reputation for providing a safe, caring and reliable home from home where dogs receive the individual attention they deserve.

Under the guidance of Wendy Oliver and our dedicated team, we pride ourselves on getting to know every dog that stays with us. We understand that every dog has their own personality, routine and needs, so we tailor our care to help them settle in quickly and enjoy their stay.

Whether it’s their first visit or they’re one of our regular guests, our goal is always the same: to ensure every dog leaves happy, healthy and looking forward to their next visit.

Wendy Oliver

Wendy bought Skyecroft in August 2018 after deciding to follow her lifelong passion for animals and turn it into a career.

Since taking over, she has gained her Animal Care qualification and is passionate about continually developing her knowledge. Wendy encourages the whole team to undertake regular CPD training, ensuring every member of staff is equipped to provide the highest standard of care for the dogs staying at Skyecroft.

She has also invested heavily in improving the kennels, carrying out extensive maintenance and upgrades to create a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment where every dog can feel relaxed and at home.

Wendy believes that happy staff, well-maintained facilities, and exceptional care go hand in hand. By continually investing in both the team and the kennels, she strives to provide the kind of experience she would want for her own pets.

When she’s not caring for the dogs staying with us, Wendy is at home on site with her own three dogs and two cats, ensuring there’s always someone nearby to look after every guest.

Sophie

Sophie is Skyecroft’s Kennels Manager and has been a valued member of the team for over 20 years. She joined straight after completing her Animal Care qualification and, through her dedication, knowledge, and passion for animal welfare, has worked her way up to her current role.

As Kennels Manager, Sophie plays a key part in the day-to-day running of Skyecroft and is often one of the friendly faces you’ll meet when dropping off or collecting your dog. She takes great pride in ensuring every guest receives the highest standard of care throughout their stay.

When she’s not at work, Sophie’s love of animals continues at home, where she cares for her four dogs, a cat, and even a few fish!

Dani

Dani has worked in the kennels industry since leaving college and has been a valued member of the Skyecroft team for the past three years. She initially joined us on a part-time basis before quickly becoming a full-time member of the team, reflecting her enthusiasm and commitment to caring for every dog that stays with us.

As one of our customer-facing team members, Dani is often there to welcome you and your dog on arrival and to hand them back at the end of their stay, helping to ensure both owners and their pets feel relaxed and at ease.

Away from Skyecroft, Dani shares her home with three dogs, a cat, and several birds, so it’s safe to say that caring for animals is very much a way of life for her.

Billy

Billy joined the Skyecroft team three years ago, initially helping out at weekends. His positive attitude and natural ability to care for the dogs quickly made him an integral part of the team, and within six months he had moved into a full-time role.

As one of our customer-facing team members, Billy is often there to welcome you and your dog on arrival and to hand them back at the end of their stay. His friendly nature and genuine love of animals help ensure every dog feels happy, settled, and well cared for.

At home, Billy has two dogs and a cat, so his passion for animals doesn’t stop when the working day ends.

Kye

Kye first joined the Skyecroft team by helping out during the school summer holidays, returning year after year to build his experience and develop his skills. Having become a valued member of the team, he joined us full time this summer after leaving school.

As our busiest period runs from April through to October, we increase our staffing levels to ensure every dog continues to receive the time, attention, and care they deserve. Kye plays an important part in helping us maintain the high standards of care that Skyecroft is known for during our busiest months.

Sam

Sam first joined Skyecroft during her school work experience placement and quickly became a great fit for the team. Her enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and genuine love of animals made such an impression that she now works with us every Sunday and provides additional cover during busy holiday periods.

Whether she’s helping to care for our canine guests or supporting the team during peak times, Sam is always committed to ensuring every dog receives the attention and care they deserve.

At home, Sam has a much-loved dog of her own, so her passion for animal care continues long after the working day is over.

Clay

Clay has been a valued member of the Skyecroft team for several years, working weekends alongside his college studies. He is currently completing his Animal Care qualification and enjoys putting his growing knowledge into practice while helping to care for the dogs staying with us.

Although Clay doesn’t have any pets of his own at home, he is always happy to help friends and family by walking their dogs and caring for their goats and horses. His enthusiasm for animals and willingness to get involved make him a great addition to the team.
